Jag fick ett rekord rapporterat:

50 MHz ES OZ1DJJ JO65HP - PY5CC GG54.

Detta gav mothugg, se nedan. Skall det vara något annat än ES ?

Dear Tommy,

I have seen your new update in which you have added two 50-MHz new sporadic-E records between stations in north Europe and south America. However I have some doubts that those QSOs actually took place in the sporadic-E mode.

To my understaning of sporadic-E propagation, QSOs between the northern emisphere and the southern emisphere cannot take place via sporadic-E because, if the station in the northerm emisphere is in summer, the other one would be in winter. And multi-hop sporadic-E requires both stations being in sporadic-E conditions.

Even in winter we rarely have some short sporadic-E conditions, but these are very localized and unsuitable for multi-hop QSOs.

I have put a question just on this very issue on the UKSMG reflector, to know the other's opinion.

Best regards. Tony, I0JX

Hej Tommy
