Hi
My name is James Coxon (M6JCX) and yesterday we launched a simple gps
and radio transmitter on a small balloon which we have been tracking
for the last 17hours, it is currently floating at 3000m altitude and
heading towards the south swedish coast. The Danish stations are
beginning to struggle with
decoding as it goes out of range so we need some south Swedish
stations to listen out for the balloon telemetry. Do you know of any
local amateur radio operators who would like to listen out for the
balloon?
You can follow the path on PYSY/SP9UOB-2/ATLAS/PICO : Tracker -
jump onto #highaltitude on irc.freenode.net
(freenode Web IRC (qwebirc))
Radio: its an RFM22b transmitting at 10mW on 434.301Mhz USB, RTTY, 50
baud, 425 shift, no parity, 2 stops, ascii-8, if you use dl-fldigi
just select PICO in the drop down box.
The payload is a Ublox6, RFM22b radio and Atmega328 running at 1.8v
off a single AA lithium energizer - predicted to last 30hrs. All this
weighs in at 31grams and it is attached to a single 36inch silver foil
party ballon (P1050965 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!)
The payload has now been flying for coming up to 17 hours and it would
be great if we could keep tracking it a little bit further!
If you aren;t in the area and know someone would like to help out get in touch!
