The Radio Society of Sri Lanka (RSSL) mobilized it’s members to provide vital communication links in the immediate aftermath of the tsunami disaster. Most of the affected areas were not contactable, with the land and mobile telecommunication infrastructure being damaged and the networks being congested with an unprecedented number of call attempts
